The food retail sales exceeded 1,400 billion HUF
The food retail revenues reached 1,404 billion HUF in the ninety food categories measured by Nielsen, between February 2013 and January 2014 as a year earlier.
In terms of volume, the shops sold 3 percent less than during the previous twelve months – the Retail Index of the Nielsen consumer information and knowledge services company shows.
The revenues of the stores increased in case of such food products as cheese (2 percent), processed meat (1 percent), mineral water (1 percent), and sour cream (1 percent).
In terms of value and volume the chocolate, sweet biscuit and vodka sales have increased. It is noteworthy that the pálinka sales further declined by 23 percent in terms of value, and by 33 percent in terms of volume.
