The intelligence in cooperation
All elements of the food chain can be considered a knowledge centre and the state’s task is to harmonise and coordinate their work, thereby creating a knowledge network. But the authorities’ becoming a knowledge centre isn’t enough in itself: a close cooperation, a real partnership needs to be established with various stakeholders – food industry entrepreneurs, trade and non-professional organisations, professional bodies and associations. Cooperation has to be started in developing best practices and guidelines. A knowledge centre is to be set up, a place where SMEs can ask for help to solve their problems in various areas, from interpreting regulations to whom to contact with certain issues. In the next part of our series we are going to write about the importance of building a quality-driven public service catering system
