The health fund can also help with starting school
Health and mutual aid funds can also reduce families’ school start-up expenses this year through digital learning tools that can be purchased through them, the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) drew attention to this in a statement sent to MTI on Thursday.
According to the information, educational materials have been published on the Wallet-Friendly School Start subpage of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank’s website to promote conscious financial decisions.
It was highlighted that, through a legislative amendment at the beginning of the summer, more than 1.2 million domestic health and mutual aid fund members can also use their fund savings to purchase their children’s digital learning tools – such as portable or desktop computers and accessories, monitors, printers, copiers, scanners, excluding mobile phones – when they start school in the fall, this year for a maximum of HUF 290,800 per child.
It was explained that fund members can also use their savings for school start-up support through smaller, but regular payments. The service allows students from kindergarten to students under 25 pursuing their higher education studies to purchase clothing, school supplies, textbooks, or even pay for higher education tuition, dormitory, and apartment rent.
The service can now be requested at any time during the year, and the rule that the purchase invoice could only be issued 15 days before the start of the school year or a maximum of 15 days after the end has been eliminated.
