Healthy products are the most sought after in the cereal market
Among cereal flakes, healthy products are the most sought-after according to the overview of the National Chamber of Agricultural Economy (NAK), which also reveals that the composition of cereal flakes has changed significantly in the last decade: their carbohydrate, sugar and salt content has decreased, while the protein, fat and fiber content increased, so in the case of some manufacturers, the products currently on the market are no longer subject to the public health product tax – the chamber explained in its statement on Friday.
With the spread of health-conscious nutrition, the demand for products made from various cereals is constantly increasing in the domestic market as well. Cereal-based flakes, porridges and muesli are mainly part of breakfast – NAK explained.
According to NAK’s market overview, domestic manufacturers are present on the shelves in a smaller proportion: the products of one large and a few smaller Hungarian companies are available in the retail market.
