Dairy producers contemplating an EU-wide strike
Dairy producers could decide European Union-wide strike, if there will not be favorable decisions on next week's meeting of agriculture ministers of the member states – announced on Tuesday by the producers' representatives in Brussels.
As association president, Romuald Schaber, expressed on Tuesday; In the opinion of dairy producers the total EU dairy politics fully proved wrong. After the ministerial meeting of next week, the farmers will held an extraordinary meeting and decide whether to go on strike or not. The majority of the committee members were insufficient with the previou steps of the European Commission to stabilize the dairy sector and opposed the proposal of the gradual increase of the milk quotas, and also the elimination of the milk quotas from 2015 – reports MTI-Eco.
