All AVON products have been awarded the Leaping Bunny trademark
AVON is proud to announce that, as a result of its commitment, all of its products have received the Leaping Bunny mark from Cruelty Free International. The international program is the world’s gold standard for cruelty-free products, with requirements that go beyond laws restricting animal testing, ensuring that all products and their entire supply chain are cruelty-free.
AVON is the first global beauty company to end animal testing in all countries where it operates and has been working to promote the adoption of cruelty-free methods for three decades. In a major milestone, the global beauty brand partnered with Cruelty Free International in July 2023, when the brand’s Avon Care and Anew products were the first to receive the Leaping Bunny recognition. The expansion of the trademark to all product categories required a review of over 8,000 raw materials and the involvement of over 4,000 raw material suppliers, which AVON took a phased approach to achieve, gradually achieving the “Leaping Bunny” logo on all of its products. While the old packaging, which still lacks the logo, will remain in circulation while supplies last, it will eventually be completely replaced by products bearing the new Leaping Bunny logo.
Cruelty Free International’s global Leaping Bunny program requires animal-free standards that go beyond legal requirements. This internationally recognized program is the best assurance that a brand is truly committed to eliminating animal testing. Before brands can receive approval and thus be allowed to display the Leaping Bunny logo, they must meet strict criteria. The program requires the brand to implement a supplier management system and supply chain control down to the level of ingredient manufacturers, and to accept and provide independent audits and verifications to ensure ongoing compliance with the program’s requirements.
“We are incredibly proud that all of AVON’s product lines have earned the Leaping Bunny mark. This achievement is a testament to our commitment to always providing our customers with products that exceed their expectations without compromising on animal welfare, international safety standards or regulatory requirements. This is a milestone in our more than 30 years of animal-free work, and further strengthens our goal of making the world a better place for everyone – including animals,” said Kristof Neirynck, CEO of AVON.
