The mineral water market is ready for the heat
The effect of the heat is not felt on the mineral water market, but the producers are prepared to cope with growing demand – told the market participants and experts to MTI.
In the first quarter, about the same volume of mineral water was consumed as in the same period of last year: a total of 225 million liters were bottled. 93 percent of this was mineral water, 6 percent was spring water and the remainder part belonged to the flavor or enriched category. 56 percent of all mineral water was carbonated, 6 percent was lightly carbonated and 38 percent was non-carbonated. In 2009, a total of 1,100 million liters of mineral water was bottled, the annual per capita consumption was 110 liters – reports ProfitLine.hu.
