Mineral waters, fattened Danone’s revenues
The French Danone Group's revenue rose by 7.6 percent to 5.1 billion euros this year's first quarter, compared to a year earlier, mainly due to the growth in sales in Asia.
Although the French group is world leader in the distribution of yogurts, the increase mainly came from the mineral water business, especially it was remarkable in the emerging countries.
In the dairy business branch of the company, revenues grew by 3.8 percent, to nearly three billion euros, while mineral water sales increased by 16 percent to 841 million euros. (MTI)
