Father's Day Sales Expected to Reach $9.9 Billion in the US
The NRF 2007 Father's Day Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, conducted by BIGresearch, found that 76 percent of Americans plan to celebrate Father's Day.
Those who plan to celebrate will spend an average of $98.34,
up nearly $10 from $88.80 last year. By comparison, consumers were estimated to
spend $15.73 billion on Mother's Day this year, with the average consumer
spending $139.14. The trend toward spending more on Mothers is still relatively
new, as just four years ago consumers spent more on Dad than on Mom — an
average of $99.65 for Dad and $97.37 for Mom.
Popular Gifts for Dad are greeting cards, clotyhing, books
or CD, electronics or computer related accessories, sporting Goods or Leisure Items, etc.
In addition, almost 43 percent of consumers will pay tribute
to Dad with a special outing, such as brunch or dinner, and intend to spend
slightly less than $50 on the outing.
What about Hungarian Fathers? Let's see on 19 of June!
