The U.S. government has sued the American Express
U.S. government sued the American Express credit card company, because according to the government American Express uses anti-competitive practices – reports BBC News Online.
According to the Ministry of Justice; the company contracted with retailers to prevent themselves from the smaller various transaction fees of the competitors.
The government also sued MasterCard and Visa, but both companies want to make an agreement. American Express stated, that they will fight against the charges. According to the Ministry of Justice; all three credit card companies destroys competition, because they do not let to offer the customers cheaper, alternative forms of payments – reports Origo.
