According to AM and Nébih, abuses related to firewood procurement may increase
Wartime energy prices and European energy supply problems also affect Hungary, which is why abuses related to the purchase of firewood may increase – announced the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) and the National Food Chain Security Office (Nébih).
They emphasized: the most effective antidote to fraud is if customers are informed before buying firewood and know the warning signs. Nébih Tűzifát Okosan’s ad search engine and its constantly expanding thematic information page provide considerable help in this.
Every year, millions of cubic meters of firewood are sold from domestic forests and other wooded areas. While the forest managers and land users work to serve the growing needs, the inspectors of the Nébih EUTR monitor the movement of wood, check the marketing, processing and trade of wood products, because the long-term satisfaction of the population’s needs can only be ensured through legal extraction, they pointed out.
