At Alza, the turnover of school supplies is at its peak
The turnover of school supplies reaches its peak before the start of the school year. In line with its dominant position in Hungarian e-commerce, Alza offers almost every product necessary for students – from laptops to pen holders. According to Alza’s own survey, school shopping is dominated by electronics, followed by stationery and calculators.
Sales of teaching aids and related computing devices in the alza.hu web store increase significantly even in the 33rd week of the year, i.e. at the beginning of August, but the real big jump occurs from the 35th week, i.e. at the end of August.
“Of course, most parents wait until the beginning of the school year, when their children bring home the list of necessary school equipment. At the beginning of September, starting from the data of 2023, the sales of notebooks, calculators, and even laptops and tablets will increase several times”
– says Eliška Čeřovská, PR manager of Alza.
“In a survey, Alza asked its customers what kind of school equipment they had previously bought from them. About 16% of the respondents indicated that they had already bought school equipment from Alza, most often (in 40% of the cases) in the amount of HUF 40–80,000. Electronics are clearly in the lead, this was indicated by 59% of the school equipment previously purchased from Alza, followed by stationery and calculators (almost a third of the buyers)”
says Eliška Čeřovská.
