Campaign for a lower VAT on alternative drinks in Germany

Barley, pea, soy and other plant-based drinks are currently subject to a higher tax rate than cow’s milk, which is considered a staple food. According to the companies, this tax difference puts certain consumer goods at a disadvantage and contradicts the German government’s climate, health and nutrition goals.
