Animal welfare and animal protection have always received special attention in agriculture. From the very beginning, the National Chamber of Agriculture has strived to make responsible animal husbandry natural for everyone. In order to spread good practices in domestic animal husbandry as much as possible and to strengthen the culture of conscious animal husbandry, the National Chamber of Agriculture and the Our Common Cause is Animal Protection Foundation have concluded a cooperation agreement. As a result of the previous successful cooperation between the NAK and the Our Common Cause is Animal Protection Foundation, dozens of shelters across the country were able to receive assistance in connection with the harsh weather at the beginning of the year. At the NAK’s call, donations from all counties were received, and straw donations helped to improve the care of animals living in the shelter. The cooperation agreement therefore places a high emphasis on handling various unexpected crisis situations – temporary accommodation, care, coordination of donation offers and related logistical tasks. As part of the cooperation, NAK and the Foundation encourage and support scientific and educational activities in the field of animal protection and animal welfare, develop and coordinate training programs. An important role in joint action is played by fact-based communication and the establishment of an effective reporting system that quickly helps detect and investigate suspicious cases.
