Hungarian tourism still functioning – said Secretary of State
According to Ujhelyi István Secretary of State in the Prime Minister's Office; the economic crisis put smaller negative impact on tourism than expected. Revenues reduce less than expected.
Tourism is one of the main strategic areas in Hungary, with 400 thousand people working in tourism and hospitality. 8,5-9 percent of the Hungarian GDP comes from this sector.
In the course of the New Hungary Development Plan (NHDP) 300 billion HUF is available for this purpose, between 2007-2013. In the last two tender 278 projects won 73 billion HUF fundings – reports Origo.
