Alensa continues to expand in Hungary
Alensa, Europe’s largest online contact lens retailer, is now present in Hungary with three of its own stores: after Budapest, directly in Győr and Pécs, while in partner opticians in Szeged, Veszprém and Dunaharaszti. The company is expanding dynamically not only domestically but also internationally.
Róbert Tóth, Alensa’s manager for the Hungarian market, and Ján Jacina, Alensa’s optical store network director, are working to include additional opticians in the Alensa Partner network and expand the brand’s presence in Hungary. Alensa recently chose Zita Pataki, known as a weather forecaster and television presenter, as its brand ambassador in the spirit of fashion and vision health.
“Joining the Alensa franchise provides partners with numerous advantages. In addition to central marketing and IT support, we also offer comprehensive furnishing solutions, private labels and territorial exclusivity. Our partners get more favorable purchasing prices, a huge selection and transparent statistics, while their business becomes simpler. In addition, we measure customer satisfaction across multiple channels and provide access to the existing Alensa customer base. More than 17,000 glasses can be tried on in the stores, everything is in stock, so we can guarantee immediate, uniform delivery. Alensa is a well-known and reliable brand name that is worth joining”
– says Róbert Tóth, Alensa’s manager for the Hungarian market.
Expansion in the neighborhood
“Alensa is growing steadily internationally by several tens of percent year on year. We achieved almost 30% growth in the last financial year alone. The total sales revenue of the Alensa Group thus exceeded 160 million euros”
– added Róbert Tóth. Alensa aims to build a strong presence in the European market with its stores, and to this end, the retail team is constantly working to find the most suitable locations.
Currently, there are six opticians operating in the Czech Republic: two stores in Prague, additional units in Brno, Ostrava and České Budějovice, and a store operating in a partnership (franchise) model in Vysoké Mýto. In Slovakia, the current three stores – in Bratislava, Košice and Žilina – will be joined by franchise units under the Alensa Partner brand in the cities of Kysucké Nové Mesto, Banská Bystrica and Turčianske Teplice. Openings are also planned in other cities. Despite the fact that the Czech Republic and Slovakia are among the countries with one of the highest optical store densities in the world, the investment in new stores is paying off for them. In Poland, the company recently opened its flagship store in Katowice, and plans to open a new unit in another prime location in Warsaw in October. After that, other key Polish cities and towns will also be the focus of expansion, where the partnership model is also likely to be applied.
After the expansion in Poland and Hungary, the number of stores will increase to 31 by the end of the year, with further openings planned. “All our new stores are growing and the total revenue of our physical stores has increased by 72% year-on-year, which already ensures profitability and our investments are starting to pay off. That is why opening additional stores through a franchise system is the right next step,” said Ján Jacina, Director of Alensa’s Optical Store Network.
