Aldi to phase out the plastic packaging of fruits and vegetables
German discounter Aldi is going to introduce a new recyclable packaging for fruits and vegetables. The black plastic trays won’t be used any more. With this step stores will produce 265 tons less plastic waste. Aldi’s goal is to sell products only in recyclable packaging by 2025.
