ALDI is open until noon on December 24th
ALDI stores will be open on December 24 this year, taking into account the needs of customers. In the interests of employees, shopping will only be possible until noon.
ALDI is also adapting the opening hours of all its stores in Hungary to consumer needs during the holiday season. For decades, Hungarian customers have clearly demanded the opportunity to shop in the days before Christmas, whether it is for basic groceries, holiday supplies or gifts. The company will therefore deliver fresh goods to all its stores on December 24, 2024, but the stores will only be open until 12:00 on that day. With this step, ALDI is trying to adapt to the different life situations of customers, whether they work multiple shifts, are single, have families or retirees. In addition, the retail chain is shaping its operations while keeping the interests of its employees and legal requirements in mind.
In the interest of customers, ALDI is providing more time and opportunities for shopping with its opening hours on December 24, while at the same time distributing the load resulting from the higher number of customers better among the stores. Approximately 70% of ALDI employees will have their day off on December 24, as in previous years. The smooth operation of the 182 stores will be ensured by 30% of the staff.
ALDI stores’ year-end and holiday opening hours:
December 24, 2024: 07:00–12:00
December 25 – 26, 2024: closed
December 31, 2024: 07:00–16:00
