Zoltán Nógrádi (Fidesz-KDNP), the mayor of Mórahalom, announced that 500 million forints will be spent on establishing rest areas at 14 locations along the EuroVelo 13 cycle route, with toilets, water blocks, bicycle storage, and occasionally bicycle service points and e-bike charging facilities.

The EuroVelo 13 international cycle route runs from Kirkenes in northern Norway to Rezovó in Bulgaria, to the Black Sea coast, and its Hungarian section runs from Lake Fertő to Tiszasziget, also touching neighboring countries.

In addition to the rest areas, service areas will also be established on the 54-kilometer county section of the cycle route, and signs will be provided to help hikers find their way.

In Szeged, resting places are being created at locations that attract many visitors, such as the university botanical garden, the wildlife park, the Franciscan church in the lower town and the Újszegedi park.

The hiking trail returns to Vojvodina at Tiszasziget, and a resting place is being built in the village at the lowest point in Hungary.
