The Ministry of Agriculture strongly supports the survival of small and medium-sized producers across the border
The Ministry of Agriculture constantly monitors the development of the fate of small and medium-sized producers across the border and supports their survival by all means, thereby ensuring the opportunity for valuable local flavors to remain on the market – stated Oszkár Ökrös, Deputy State Secretary responsible for international relations, at the ceremonial opening of the Vojvodina Borudvar event in Bácsfeketehegy.
The Deputy State Secretary emphasized that winemakers from many Hungarian-inhabited areas of the Carpathian Basin came to the program, which thereby – in the spirit of thinking in one nation – strengthens the dialogue between Hungarians in the motherland and Hungarians across the border. The program was jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Association of Vojvodina Agricultural Associations, and its aim is to promote cultured wine consumption and high-quality Hungarian wines, and spread their good reputation. The deputy state secretary also said that the ministry considers it important to make the historical wine regions shine again, as they play a role in creating and maintaining communities with their high-quality wines, across national borders and beyond. The Schams Ferenc Plan launched this year by the Ministry of Agriculture also serves this purpose. Oszkár Ökrös emphasized that the work and cooperation of active civil agricultural organizations operating in the Carpathian Basin is one of the keys to the preservation of Hungarianness. In Vojvodina, the cooperation partner of the ministry is the Association of Vojvodina Agricultural Associations (VASZ), which has been working for the Hungarian farmers of Vojvodina for years, represents their interests, contributes to the development of farmers and the recovery of the countryside with its dedicated professional work.
In the future, the Ministry of Agriculture will continue to provide all assistance to producers across the border to prosper in their homeland and is open to innovative efforts to promote the establishment of the Hungarian farming community abroad in their homeland, which serve the development of Hungarian-Hungarian relations and the strengthening of the Carpathian Basin farming community – he concluded his words the Deputy Secretary of State.
