The National Chamber of Agriculture is organizing free “Professional Taster” career orientation camps for elementary school students in grades 5-6-7 at 19 locations across the country. During the five-day summer programs, those who are about to choose a

career can also learn about agricultural professions in practice.

The National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) is organizing full-service, walk-in “Professional Taster” career orientation camps for elementary school students who are about to choose a career. This offers an opportunity to learn about professions in the Agriculture and Forestry and Food Industry sectors. The interactive, experience-filled program aims to provide students with a first-hand look at the opportunities of the agricultural sector, while gaining insight into the mysteries of the given professions and the everyday life of agricultural vocational training institutions in a playful, practical and action-oriented way appropriate to their age group. During the thematic program weeks, which will take place between June 23 and August 8, groups of 20 people will have the opportunity to try out the work processes of the selected professions under the guidance of experts in 19 agricultural vocational training institutions. Students can also learn about the practical background of the professions in the teaching farms and workshops of the partner agricultural vocational training institutions.

The program creates an opportunity to meet successful farmers and agricultural enterprises and gain direct experience in workplace conditions

The professions that can be learned: Forestry technician – Forestry professional level; Forester, timber harvester; Surveyor, land and GIS technician; Farmer – Animal Breeder, Horseman and Plant Grower professional degrees; Gardener; Gardening technician – Ornamental plant grower, florist, medicinal plant grower, fruit grower, vegetable grower, park construction and maintenance professional degrees; Agricultural engineer; Agricultural engineer technician; Agricultural technician – Animal Breeder and Plant Grower professional degrees; Confectioner; Butcher and meat product maker; Small-scale food producer; Baker; Baker-confectioner; Baking and confectionery technician. The aim of the “Vocational Taster” program is to help students choose a career, develop their self-knowledge, and arouse their interest in agricultural professions. In addition to practical demonstrations, there will also be professional presentations, where parents can also learn about agricultural vocational training, training programs, dual training, the benefits of a vocational training employment contract, and student benefits.
