The Ministry of Agriculture is providing significant additional resources to help preserve the Hungarian heritage

The Minister emphasized: our Hungaricums and national values ​​are our common treasures, which strengthen national identity and contribute to the passing on of our traditions. He reminded us that thanks to the work of recent years, we already have 100 Hungaricums, 164 outstanding national values ​​and more than thirteen thousand national values ​​registered. István Nagy highlighted that none of this would be possible without the dedicated work of local communities, which is why the application opportunities that support value-saving activities are particularly important. Between 2013 and 2025, nearly 9.2 billion forints of support were awarded for the implementation of Hungaricum projects, supporting the work of more than three thousand to six hundred beneficiaries.

The Minister of Agriculture explained that there was outstanding interest in this year’s call, with a total of 573 applications received, with a request for support of nearly 1.9 billion forints. In view of the great interest, the Ministry of Agriculture provided an additional 500 million forints of additional resources, thus increasing the support framework from 650 million forints to 1 billion 150 million forints,   announced István Nagy. Thanks to the increase in resources, the number of supported projects will increase significantly: more than a hundred additional applications may receive support. Civil society organizations, local governments, individuals and Hungarian communities abroad will all be given the opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of our values.

István Nagy pointed out that the events, publications and community programs implemented through the grants not only strengthen national unity, but also contribute to the development of tourism and the revitalization of the local economy. The minister emphasized that the strength of the Hungaricum movement lies in the communities, and the current decision also serves to ensure that these initiatives further enrich our common values ​​and strengthen the unity of Hungarians both here and beyond the borders.
