Ocado launches automatic re-order software
Online grocery delivery firm Ocado is currently in the process of developing software that can predict when a household needs to re-order a particular product and will add it to an automatically generated shopping list.
The online supermarket is testing a new website that will automatically generate orders based on customers’ purchasing history. The so-called “reserve” service will send a confirmation e-mail of the order, which can be adjusted or before the actual order is placed by the customer. Jason Gissing, co-founder and finance director of Ocado, said: “It should be like an order bought by your partner. It might not be exactly what you want, but it will be something you’d be happy to receive. It’s a way of replenishing your kitchen and bathroom in a way a housekeeper would.”
