Whiskey auction record: 285 thousand pounds for a barrel
Not only glassware but barrels of Scotch whiskey are also a huge business. At an auction, the record of the most expensive barrel was 285 thousand pounds for a 30 year old Scotch whiskey – origo.hu wrote.
Some whiskeys are so expensive nowadays that we can rightfully call the alcoholic drink: liquid gold. At the beginning of October, a barrel of whiskey was sold for a record price of 285,000 pounds at an auction in Hong Kong. (origo)
