From August, the discount limit of the SZÉP card will rise to HUF 650,000 and can also be used for food
From August, not only the 15 percent discount on food, but also government measures affecting the SZÉP card will help families and reduce inflation. With the tax discount provided by the government, employers can add HUF 200,000 to their employees’ SZÉP cards, which can be used for food purchases until the end of the year, the ministry told MTI on Monday.
They pointed out: the protracted war and the faulty Brussels sanctions are causing serious damage to the economy. Even in this difficult situation, the government is doing everything it can to restore economic growth and protect families and jobs.
Pursuant to the government’s decision, between August 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023, employers may transfer a one-time additional sum of no more than HUF 200,000 to the SZÉP card in addition to the current limit.
Thus, in 2023, the maximum amount of employee recognition that can be given in addition to extremely favorable tax and contribution payments will rise to HUF 650,000, and during this period families can also use the amounts available on SZÉP cards to buy cold food.
