K&H’s big survival experiment is coming again in August
K&H’s influencer campaign, which was a huge hit on social media last year and caught the attention of many young people, is back. This time, instead of one, four young content creators are trying to live off the average pension – or 224 thousand forints – for a month. The challenge this year is not just about entertaining: the campaign aims to bring the importance of self-care closer to young people and to point out that starting to save money on time is not a bad thing – it can be a life-saving decision.
The influencer activity that showed flawless savings last year is back this year: K&H is launching the second season of the “retirement challenge” between August 1 and 31. The rules are simple – but life is not. The contestants can live off the average pension from May this year, or 224 thousand forints, for a month, and the winner is the one with the most money left at the end of the month. This amount of money is not spent on luxury cars and fine dining, but on bargain dry pasta, shared gym rental and creative compromises – and of course some self-knowledge, the financial institution announced.
A crowded, famous field
The contestants prepare a financial plan before the challenge, and then report week by week on how they try to get by with the amount they have available. They show how they are transforming their daily routine, what sacrifices this lifestyle entails – and also what alternatives they are trying to replace the things that have been natural to them until now. Their followers are not left out either: they can also join the challenge, share their own savings tips, and the influencers are also preparing special prize games.
And of course there is Chingisz, last year’s great survivor, who this year is already mentoring the others as a routine “retiree”. He comments on their plans and actions, shares useful (or brutally realistic) advice, and occasionally surprises the contestants with unexpected expenses that anyone can face in real life: a broken household appliance, unexpected medical expenses, or a family event that can’t be missed.
This year’s challenge features Máté Sipos (@mate.sipos), Hawazik (@hawazik), ST!CKY (@stickyboi__), Gigi Székely (@gigiszekely) – accompanied, supported (and sometimes stressed out) by their mentor, Dordzsceren Csingisz (@dordzscerencsingi). Every moment of the challenge takes place on TikTok, in a fast, spectacular, honest, and interactive format.
