GKI confidence index reaches 4-month high in August
According to a survey conducted by GKI Economic Research with EU support, consumers and the business sector expressed more optimistic outlooks in August than in July.

The GKI business confidence index rose by more than 2 points – after falling by 2 points in July –returning to its June level. There was positive news from all four sectors, with confidence indices rising to varying degrees compared to July. The employment indicator has been declining steadily for over a year. This unfavourable trend broke in August and in the next three months 7% of businesses plan to increase their workforce, while 12% plan to reduce it. The predictability of the business environment has also improved slightly, reaching a 5-month high. The GKI consumer confidence index was more than 2 points higher in August than in July and this brought the index to a 4-month high. All components of the index show improvement.
