Retail sales in the Czech Republic also decreased in August
In August, in an annual comparison, retail sales in the Czech Republic decreased by 2.8 percent, the Czech Statistical Office (CSU) announced on Friday in Prague.
Retail turnover in August was 0.8 percent lower than the previous month. The decline in retail sales in the Czech Republic has been going on for sixteen months now, the statisticians pointed out.
Compared to August last year, less industrial goods and food were sold this year. Household expenses fell by 9.3 percent, the turnover of clothing and shoe stores by 8.4 percent, and the sale of computers and communication technical devices by 7.7 percent.
In August, the turnover of manufactured goods was 4.1 percent lower, and that of food products was 3.2 percent lower.
