Domestic tourism was the driving force behind tourism in August
In August, the number of nights spent by foreign tourists increased by 3.6 percent, while the guest nights of domestic tourists increased by 6.8 percent, compared to a year before.
The hotel room occupancy rate increased by 1.1 percentage points to 72.3 percent, while in the first eight months increased by an average of 1.6 percentage points to 56.1 percent. The commercial accommodations reported gross sales increase of 5.6 percent at current prices – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday. (MTI)
