In August, economic sentiment in the euro area improved more than expected

In August, DG EcFin’s Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) rose by 5.3 points from 87.4 points in the previous month to 87.7 points in the euro area, instead of the 85.0 points expected by markets.
