Retail sales jumped 6.3 percent in August
In August 2018 like-for-like retail volume sales augmented by 6.3 percent; adjusted for calendar effects, the sales growth was 6.8 percent – reported the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Food and food-type retail sales increased by 4.5 percent and non-food sales grew by 10.2 percent, while motor fuel volume sales rose 6.2 percent. In January-August 2018 like-for-like volume sales – adjusted for calendar effects – surpassed last year’s level by 6.7 percent.
