Rossmann tests pick-up points in Germany
The drugstore group Rossmann is to offer pick-up stations for online orders in the future, where customers can pick up their purchases contactless and without having to wait. According to the company, the new service responds to the increasing demand for click & collect services.
Drugstore group Rossmann has been introducing pick-up stations for Click & Collect orders in selected shops, the company announced. In the future, customers will be able to pick up their online orders at the stations during opening hours without contact or waiting times.
Rossmann states that this is a response to the increasing demand for Click & Collect services. According to a press release, the company sees great potential in pick-up stations relieving employees and enhancing shopping convenience.
After ordering online, customers receive a QR and a pin code by e-mail. They can use this to pick up their parcel themselves at the pick-up point. The pick-up points will be integrated into the existing Rossmann photo world.
Rossmann is initially trialling the concept in ten shops across Germany and in case of success, it will extend it to other stores in the near future. The first pick-up station will go into operation in Munich on 27 July.
