Erste Bank Hungary will take over the customers of Commerzbank Zrt
Erste Bank Hungary will take over the customers of Commerzbank Zrt. on December 1st. Due to the takeover, the financial institution’s services will be available to a limited extent at the beginning of December.

In the case of corporate customers, the online channels will also not be available during bank holidays
Customers of Commerzbank Zrt. will have limited access to some services on the last day of November, while they will not be able to make transactions on the first and second of December. Erste Bank Hungary branches will be closed on Friday, the second of December, and the financial institution will also observe a bank holiday the following weekend. The online services of retail customers of Erste Bank Hungary will not be significantly affected by this, including non-immediate and group transfers, and in the case of currency conversions, they can expect slower than usual performance. In the case of corporate customers, the online channels will not be available during the bank holidays either, but the cards will still be usable for purchases and cash withdrawals. From December 5, all former customers of Commerzbank Zrt. and Erste Bank Hungary will have access to Erste Bank Hungary’s usual range of services without restrictions.
By purchasing Commerzbank Zrt. and taking over its customer portfolio, Erste Bank Hungary Zrt. becomes Hungary’s fifth largest corporate lender and further strengthens its presence in the large corporate segment (especially in the sub-segment with a foreign ownership background), in which Commerzbank Zrt. was considered a particularly strong player.
