LG to present transparent car antenna at CES 2024 together with Saint-Gobain Sekurit
At CES 2024, LG Electronics (LG) will present its transparent film-type antenna for cars, which can be placed directly on the vehicle’s windshield, created in collaboration with the renowned French glass manufacturer Saint-Gobain Sekurit. The company’s transparent telematics solution is an industry-changing telecommunications technology that is expected to have a significant impact on the rapidly evolving mobility industry while further strengthening LG’s position in the automotive solutions market.
The automotive industry – where electric vehicles are now the norm, and autonomous and software-defined vehicles will soon arrive – is on the verge of a revolution in connectivity. This transformation requires cutting-edge telecommunications environments capable of real-time data exchange in high-tech personal spaces.
LG’s transparent antenna, which will be available as a glass-on-glass or glass-in-glass solution, is designed to be compatible with different types of glass and vehicles. The fact that the foil can be applied on a large surface guarantees reliable telecommunications performance and also provides scalability to handle increased network traffic. LG’s latest telematics innovation is extremely widely adaptable and offers enhanced connectivity options with support for 5G, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and Wi-Fi.
