French wine producers expect average yield and very good quality
Because of the drought, the yield is slightly lower than last year, but the French wine producers expect very good quality wines this year.
“Good vintage is expected this year with high maturity, flavors, and promising fermentation” – Jérôme Despey chairman of the FranceAgriMer said on Monday. The FranceAgriMer is the state wine consultant company.
The French Ministry of Agriculture estimates that this year's wine production will be around 46.5 million hectoliters, which will be higher than the average of the past five years (45.6 million hectoliters). (MTI)
