Food prices grew above the average in May
In May 2018 consumer prices were 2.8 percent higher on average than a year before. In comparison with May 2017, food prices increased by 3.8 percent. Egg’s price soared by 14.3 percent and butter/dairy spread’s price rose 12.7 percent. Dairy product prices augmented by 7.5 percent and pasta cost 9.6 percent more. Sugar became 19.9 percent cheaper.
Alcoholic drink and tobacco product prices grew by 5.2 percent. The price of household energy got 1.3 percent higher. Services were provided for 1.7 percent more. Motor fuels turned 9.5 percent more expensive. Compared with April 2018, consumer prices elevated by 0.6 percent and food prices grew by 0.6 percent, too. //
