Bank’s text messages can be diverted
G Data’s experts have called attention to a serious security gap: text messages sent by banks (containing various types of identification codes) can be diverted to other phones and be used to have illegal access to customers’ bank accounts. This has already happened in the spring of 2017. G DATA’s opinion is that banks should use other means for sending such messages. They recommend introducing security tokens or mobile applications which are similar to Google Authenticator.
