NAK prepared a comprehensive publication on the challenges and development opportunities of domestic agriculture
In recent months, the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK) has evaluated the sector’s situation and development opportunities in a broad perspective and in detail, taking global factors into account, and formulated specific proposals to improve efficiency and competitiveness. The chamber summarized these in a publication entitled “Strong agricultural and food economy, a region growing in prosperity”, which can be accessed by anyone on the NAK website.
Five years ago, the chamber prepared a document in which it formulated concrete proposals for the development of domestic agriculture, at the same time summarizing the organization’s tasks for the coming years. In recent years, significant progress has been achieved in many areas, which was also helped by the continuous support of the Government. Examples include the amendment of the Land Transfer Act, the legislation on family farms, and the increase of domestic co-financing related to EU rural development resources to the maximum rate of 80%. But it is possible to mention the changes realized in connection with the undivided common property, the change of generations, as well as the forward-looking steps that have been taken in the field of water management, but which need to be continued.
Like other sectors, the operation of agriculture was significantly affected by, among others, the coronavirus, the Russian-Ukrainian war, the proceeds of sanctions
In view of the numerous external factors and changes, the NAK has once again examined the sector’s situation in a complex manner in recent months and formulated the necessary steps to improve efficiency and competitiveness, now taking these factors into account. The carefully crafted, strategic publication entitled Strengthening agricultural and food economy, a region growing in prosperity is available to anyone on the Internet:

The document also covers the main tasks dedicated to the chamber, the completion of which can help the effective functioning of its members in the coming period, whether it is advocacy related to support policy, examination of land transfer contracts, variety trials, solving problems related to propagating materials or wholesale trade, as well as information, on the continuous transfer of expertise.
The National Chamber of Agricultural Economy in its current form celebrated its tenth anniversary in March this year
During this decade, the organization became an unavoidable and decisive player in the Hungarian economy and agriculture. It covers the entire value chain together with partner organizations that have stood by it all along, and by working and acting together, it effectively represents the interests of its nearly four hundred thousand members.
