Rewe Group to rebuild wholesale business

According to a report in Lebensmittel Zeitung, Rewe is considering completely rebuilding its international wholesale business.

Company plans under discussion to bundle all wholesale operations and integrate them into the existing joint venture with Coop Switzerland, Transgourmet.

Among others, Rewe’s B2B activities
include Rewe GV-Service foodservice operations and Fegro/Selgros cash
& carry operations. In March 2008, Rewe took full control of the
Fegro/Selgros operation by acquiring the 50% stake previously owned
by Otto Group.
