The Digital Retailer of the Year award was presented
Nearly five hundred participants filled the rooms at the Ecommerce Hungary Association (ECH) conference on June 6 and 7 at the Thermal Hotel in Visegrád. The association, which looks back on two decades of history, protects the interests of online trade players and promotes modern, digital sales methods and tools, holds a two-day conference every spring. At this year’s event, members of the profession examined the situation of the domestic economy and the e-commerce sector, technological development trends, logistics, payment, marketing, and market communication tools.
ECH established a new Grand Prix this year and announced the winner in two categories before the gala dinner that closed the first day.
The Digital Retailer of the Year award went to Webshop Golobal Kft., known to the general public as pelenka.hu, which plays an important role in the market and produces rapid growth, for its exemplary commercial and business building activities. In a competitive market, the 66% turnover growth in 2021 was followed by 104% in 2022 in an e-commerce environment where the average growth was only 8-10%.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was received by Klára Ráczné Hegedűs, corporate sales director of Magyar Posta, for her many years of successful work for the development of the domestic digital economy and online commerce.
The awards were presented by György Bőgel, ECH president, András Perényi, Webshippy director, and István Zabari, ECH vice president. Webshippy, one of the most innovative logistics companies in the region, which supports the Grand Prize, also established its own special prize, with which it rewarded successful foreign expansion. Klaudia Rosenkranz, representing Geek & Gorgeous Kft., which sells in dozens of countries this year, was able to receive it at the awards gala dinner.
