Rewarding and creating visibility

JVSZ president Dr Ágnes Fábián told: “Our objective is to create increased visibility and reward member companies in more areas, so in 2024 we extended the range of our Companies for the Future Award”.

In addition to the awards for the best large and medium-sized companies, this year winners were also announced in 4 special categories. For the main prizes companies were ranked according to a set of criteria compiled by OPTEN, while the special prizes were open to entries. In each category the winners were decided on by a prestigious jury of experts. For the second year in a row, the Ministry for National Economy has supported the initiative, so the event’s chief patron, minister Márton Nagy presented the awards to the winner companies. The ministry and JVSZ also signed an agreement to deepen their cooperation.

“Our aim is to listen to the voice of the market”

In his speech Minister for National Economy Márton Nagy thanked entrepreneurs for their efforts over the past twelve months, as 2023 was a very difficult year. Despite this many businesses have grown and kept their employees. He stressed that the government’s goal is to restore growth and achieve a 4% GDP increase in 2024, following the successful reduction of inflation. The government helps entrepreneurs by making sure that there are no obstacles to growth, i.e. that there is sufficient energy at affordable price, and workers and financing are available in the right quantities. The ministry’s aim is to get the more than EUR 2bn of EU funding into the economy as quickly as possible, and the institutional system for this is up and running. JVSZ president Dr Ágnes Fábián added: JVSZ is the leading business association in Hungary, bringing together around 1,000 firms. Member companies generate almost one third of Hungary’s GDP. //
