The 2023 Sustainable Future awards were presented
The loss of biodiversity is a greater and closer threat than climate change, and immediate action is even more important here. There is no company that does not depend on nature and is not affected by it. Company managers have a special responsibility and opportunity to achieve positive changes in this area as well. This was the subject of the BCSDH business lunch held on October 12, 2023, which focused on the restoration of biodiversity and nature-positive climate solutions.
Without nature, there is no life, but neither is there business, since nearly half of the global GDP depends directly on nature and its services. How did biodiversity become one of the fastest growing ESG topics? What is the role of nature in the fulfillment of net zero goals? What should companies do in this area?
At the business lunch of the Hungarian Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSDH), the presentation of the three specific recommendations that will help the business world to take steps in the field of biodiversity took place.
This year, for the seventh time, the organization comprising 138 member companies, which produces about 40% of Hungary’s GDP, presented the award for a sustainable future in the categories Change Leader, Female Leader, Business Solution and Corporate Transformation.
