Price competition for Dubai chocolate: Lidl explodes with another discount
The Dubai chocolate price war has taken a new turn: Lidl is now offering the popular candy at an even lower price than last week. The discount chain announced on TikTok that from December 15, 200-gram Dubai chocolate can be purchased for 2,399 forints. The news is especially interesting in light of the fact that last week, the smaller, 100-gram package was sold for a higher price.
Dubai chocolate could be the hit product of 2024, and due to its popularity, fierce price competition has started between large supermarket chains. Lidl, Aldi and Auchan have launched their own promotions one after another:
Aldi: from December 15, the price of a 90-gram Dubai chocolate will be 1,499 forints, while the smaller, 30-gram bar will cost 499 forints.
Lidl: last week it first advertised the 100-gram bar for 2,999 forints, then reduced the price to 2,499 forints on the sale day.
Auchan: also offered the 100-gram version for 2,499 forints from last Thursday.
Now, however, Lidl has taken another step: it is selling the 200-gram Dubai chocolate for 2,399 forints. This has gained a significant advantage, as it offers a significantly more favorable offer compared to the previous week’s prices.
“Habibi, come to Lidl!”
The announcement was made in style on TikTok:
“Habibi, come to Lidl! The 200-gram Dubai chocolate will arrive from 12.15, and for 2,399 forints! The price per kilo would be envied by anyone, as it will be available for 11,995 forints/kg! Not even the sheikh could have guessed this!”
