Is the Spanish cucumber innocent?
The E. Coli bacteria was identified on cucumbers from two Grossmarks of Hamburg. The results are surprising: the agent is not the same with the 0104 type number bacteria, which was found in the victims in Hamburg.
Although EHEC bacteria was found on the cucumber, this is not the same as with the strain that causes the disease – said Hamburg's health senator, Cornelia Prüfer-Storcks.
“The source of the infection is still unknown” – she added. That is not at all certain that the infection spreads from Spanish cucumbers.
It is assumed that the pathogen arrived to Great Britain, Denmark, France and to the Netherlands. The virus infection has also a Swedish victim – reports Világgazdaság Online, after Spiegel.
