Eurozone's retail trade turnover has been increased in April
The retail sales in April increased by 2 percent compared to March as it was expected. The index has increased for the first time in a five month period.
Compared to a similar period of last year the retail trade turnover decreased by 2.3 percent, but the decline is less than the 3.2 percent that analysts were expecting. The March record level of 4.2 decrease percent adjusted to 3.4 percent downturn. Because of the more optimistic result, consumer demand improves faster than expected. It looks like that the eurozone is beyond the nadir of the crisis. According to Eurostat, the food, drink and tobacco sales increased by 1.1 percent, while the turnover of non-food products without petrol decreased by 0.2 percent – reports Tőzsdefórum Online.
