April produced an 8.5-percent growth in retail sales
In April 2019 like-for-like retail volume sales grew by 8.5 percent; adjusted for calendar effects, the sales growth was 7.1 percent – reported the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Food and food-type retail sales increased by 4.7 percent. Non-food sales were up 6.6 percent and motor fuel volume sales grew by 5.5 percent. In January-April 2019 like-for-like volume sales – adjusted for calendar effects – surpassed last year’s level by 6.8 percent. //
