Anuga Chilled & Fresh Food 2025: Innovations freshness and convenience under focus

Anuga Chilled & Fresh Food, one of the ten trade show under the umbrella of Anuga, will once again be placing the spotlight on innovations and trends in the chilled fresh food section from 4 to 8 October 2025.

With an expanded exhibition section, renowned brands and a strong international participation, the trade fair reflects the consumers’ growing interest in fresh, high-quality and nevertheless practical products. Over 150 exhibitors are expected in total – impressive evidence for the relevance and diversity of chilled fresh food on the global market.

The trade show in Hall 5.1 covers the entire spectrum of chilled convenience products – from fresh pasta, antipasti and marinated vegetables, to washed salads and bite-sized pieces of fruit, through to high-quality fish preparations and seafood. The focus is also on fresh, ready-made or partly prepared beverages – ideal for consumers with high demands regarding quality and saving time.

Strong line-up of exhibitors with renowned brands

With around 50 main exhibitors and ten international group stands among others from Latvia, Italy, Greece, Poland, Korea, China and Uzbekistan, Anuga Chilled & Fresh Food 2025 is presenting itself as a well-aligned platform for chilled fresh products. The renowned exhibitors include well-known names such as Wewalka (Tante Fanny fresh pastry), Settele (fresh filled pasta), Lemberg (caviar), Naturello and Perla.

The Polish company, U Jedrusia Sp. z o.o., which specialises in meat-based ready-made meals and convenience food, is participating for the first time this year. The new group stands and country participations, for example from Korea, Greece and Uzbekistan, accentuate the increased internationalisation of the trade fair – a clear sign of the growing global significance of fresh food its role in the international trade.

Industry trends: Growth and change in the fresh food section

According to Innova Market Insights, Anuga’s knowledge partner, the global market for chilled and fresh food is experiencing dynamic growth: Between 2019 and 2023 the average annual growth was 3%. While Western Europe remains to be the strongest market, Africa (+11%) and the Middle East (+7%) are recording the highest growth rates. In terms of market launches, the United Kingdom leads the way with 9%, followed by the USA (8%) and France (6%).

The categories meat, fish and eggs, which account for a share of 34%, still dominate the market segment. Dairy products lie in second place with 21%, followed by ready-made meals and side dishes with 19%. The consumers are placing increased importance on convenience: In this way, 41% of the respondents of an international survey stated that convenience plays an important role for them when shopping. At the same time, the demands for healthy and specialised diets are rising. Gluten-free products (31%), articles rich in protein (25%), products without additives or preservatives (26%) as well as lactose-free offers (16%) are particularly popular.
