Cadbury Trebor Bassett is to shut its chocolate factory in Keynsham, Somerset, with the loss of 500 jobs.
The proposal is part of the company's attempt to restructure
its UK chocolate manufacturing "in order to achieve greater supply chain

Closure of Keynsham will be phased between 2009 and 2010 and
production will move to Cadbury's Bournville factory and to Poland. Bournville
will get about £40m in additional investment. Some chocolate assortment
production will also move from Bournville to Poland, with the loss of a further
