The subject of our film today can hardly be called a traditional Japanese dish, but it is almost as interesting as they are: a kind of 21st century production, resembling record-breaking attempts.
Anjō A quiet little town in Aichi Prefecture, where traditional flavors and creative gastronomy often meet – this is where the Umewaka Zsusi restaurant operates, which has become famous for its giant maki rolls. Umewaka Zsusi’s “Futoppara-maki” weighs almost 5 kilos, is filled with seafood delicacies, and is wrapped in a 3-meter seaweed base.
