Amazon: office worker numbers may reduce
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said in an internal memo that the introduction of generative AI and smart agents could lead to a reduction in the number of office workers at the company in the coming years.

AI is playing an increasingly important role in the automation of routine tasks. According to the CEO, mass layoffs aren’t likely, instead there will be a restructuring of the workforce, where fewer people will be needed to perform certain tasks, while more people will do new types of work.
